Job Purpose:
Support to TFM, Technical Operations Manager (TOM) and Country Director (CD) with daily written translation and oral interpretation. Ensure accurate interpretation of technical instructions to ensure the safety of operations in the field.

Note that this role is based in Tartar, with operations currently taking place in Aghdam. The location of operations is likely to change. MAG provides accommodation. Staff are responsible for their own travel arrangements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide accurate written translation and oral interpretation from English to Azerbaijani and vice versa during all field operations, at meetings, training courses, workshops, and investigations.
• To advise the TFM / TOM /CD on issues of local, cultural, political and religious matters.
• To assist the TFM / TOM / CD with preparing and writing meeting minutes, reports, and statements as required.
• To maintain a secure filing system for both soft and hard copies of all MAG data so that it is easy to access and to understand.
• To exercise a high level of discretion, to understand and comply with the need to maintain confidentiality, and not to disclose sensitive matters.
Essential Experience
• Experience of translation and interpretation from English to Azerbaijani and vice versa, in writing and verbally in the workplace.
• Experience of speaking in public, to groups and teams.
• At least a graduate of high school.

• Fluent English language skills.
• Able to exercise discretion and understand the need for confidentiality.

• Computer skills, including use of Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, able to speak with confidence to people at all levels.
• Ability to work in a field environment, in sometimes harsh weather conditions.
• Ability to maintain good record keeping.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work as a team.
